This review is only on my own opinion and some what i hear from friends and people who play this records. comment down below if you would like add some comment on this record.

POWERTOOLS. vinyl records collectors the Philippines is a small in numbers this is sometimes why prices of records most likely is high. powertools is one of the best seller and one of the most wanted record DJ's and collectors should have. i will give you why?..

First of all, this records is Produced by Megamix Record bar. wat ack in the 90's. and mostly remixed by DJ Jamtrax (aka Jonathan Tionco - RIP). this record don't have reissue. and most of the tracks area ery much popular.

Filipino Dj's and listeners loe slow jams (Downtempo Remix). adn this is the record has the best remix has. includes Let's wait awhile by Janet Jackson.. this remix is a transistion remix from 99 bpm to 119 bmp. Transistion remix is the must have tools for DJ's who want's to transistion a bpm ( slow jams ) to 119 bpm ( House Music ).

Also it has the Short Remix version of Zoom exclusively remixed by DJ Jamtrax. the full version ame from a Promotional Copy Record with Green Label popularly called Green Mix. and the 3rd remix Version of "Till they Take my Heart Away" by Clair Marlo. another remix that make this record popular and more unfriendly price. adding the only remix version on Vinyl Somebody by Depech mode.

This record was also bootleg with yellow transparent record and get's "Somebody", "Let's wait awhile" and "i wanna be 500 miles". was also made popular and the record was called "More Power".

Reviewing the Content

Musical analysis: The Power Tools Genre is mostly in Downtempo here in Philippines we call it Slow Jams. that has below Bpm of 108 below. and way back in the 90's House music is the most popular playing mostlyin High end Clubs and Bars.

Production Quality: This record was released only in Generic Cover and some with Insert. the label is a Green paper waxed very tin plasic for it's protection. but due to long use it will deterirate in some time. The mixing is very much decent if you gt a NM condition it will provide you the Best audio quality you will get. i think this was mastred and pressed in the US. probably done by DJ jamtrax and some of his friends in DiscoTech.

Artwork and Packaging: Side A has the art work a simple Sound Wave with 33 rpm with is pretty decent. an the other side inlcude tracklist and the word "Acept No Bootleg" which mean this record hold exclusivity of its remixes.

Availability?

This record is some want hard to find. mostly this records was owned by DJ's and Dj Collectors, and some Mobile Sound Systems. it is exreamely hard to find a Near Mint copy or VG+ condition of this record. if somebody ofers this for sale. from vinyl community it will be sold fast. depending on the seller price offer and Vinyl Condition. i sold my copy in VG+ condition about Php 13,000.00 (Usd 220) and that was pandemic.

Alternative?

Owning a copy of this could be a pain in your wallet. bec of the price. but thier are bootlegs and some new releases that also reissue the tracks that are popular in this record. one of the bootleg that has this tracks is the "More Power" a Transarent Yellow Vinyl downside of this record is kinda hard to find if you find one selling this record it set the price somewat to regular new release record up to Php 4000 - (below) in VG+ copy. this 3 tracks 1. I wanna be 500 Miles", "Lets wait ahile" and "Somebody".

Another is the freshly released Finyl Edits Volume 2 which includes "Till They Take My Heart Away" Finyl Edits Volume 2 was released 2023 includes new, remixes and reiisue and unreleased tracks on vinyl remixed by DJ Jamtrack. released by Megamix Records.

Conclusion:

Well then here's my summary of this record. If you aim for colecting a record you should definitely owned one. if you a DJ collecting Record and doing live mix. you shoudl Get this copy. alternatively. or get some vg copy due to its rarity. i would not recomend this if your a DJ playing record with small budget. but you can always get the alternative one or G (good) condition if there's any.

This is a very good investment just keep it and dont play with it. and take cood care of it's condition. it is a very easy sell.

You can find this record in DJ Vinyl Groups. normally in Filipino DJ Vinyl Community. or ask Resellers if they have one.

- Happy hunting...!!
